My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blank
My dear __ and __, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
(James 1:19)
Grandma always reminds Pete and me of this one when we get angry with one another! It always kind of helps us to "put the breaks" on our words.
Thanks, Grandma!
Oh! The answer is:
brothers; sisters

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks
"If any of you lacks __, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be __ to him."
(James 1:5)
(Pete here: I put a picture of my cat, Caesar, here today because Dad says that sometimes... he seems to have a lot more wisdom than Lucy or me.
Oh, yeah... guess I kind of gave away the first word that needs to be filled in. It's wisdom.)
Dad says we should ask God to give us wisdom... and He will!
Answers: wisdom; given

My Bible Verse! - Fill in the Blanks! (Joshua 1:7)
Be __ and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the __ or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. (Joshua 1:7)
The Lord told Joshua to be strong and courageous in all that He would give him to do. Joshua was! He was a great military commander but even more, he was a man who loved God.
Grandpa would say he was a great friend to God!
I hope to be just like Joshua when I grow up - strong and courageous! (Just like my grandpa and dad!)
Answer: strong; right

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks! (Psalm 71:3)
"Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always __;
give the command to save me,
for you are my __and my fortress."
Hint: Psalm 71:3
This is another verse I really like! I can really get the idea of running to a fortress for protection. In this verse I think we are told that God is our protection.
What do you think?

My Bible Verse - Psalm 118:24 (A Little Devotional from Lucy too!)
I don't know about you...
but I always get a little bit sad feeling about this time in January.
Why?
Simple.
I miss Christmas!
But then, I remember this Bible verse...
"This is the day the __has made,
we will rejoice and be __in it!"
Psalm 118:24 (Fill in the blanks!)
And I remember to treat each day with the happiness of Christmas.
Like Grandmother says, "Because of Christmas we live in the time of grace between Christ's first advent and His second!"
And because of that, every day should be glad!
(I must admit...it sure does help that Grandmother runs a Christmas shop!)
Dear God, help me to be glad every day of the year - even January days when I have to wait another whole year for Christmas to come around! Amen!

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks (Psalm 90:4)
With it being the new year- a time when we have time on our minds (get it? "time and time..."), this is a really good one to remember!
"For a __ years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it is past,
And like a __in the night." (Psalm 90:4)

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks! (Advent Verses - Luke 2:11)

"Today in the town of __ a Savior has been born to you; he is __ the Lord." (Luke 2:11)
What's yours?

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks (Advent Verses - Luke 2:10)
Listen to what the angel said to the shepherds who were watching their flocks of sheep that most special night EVER!
"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be __. I bring you good news of great __ that will be for all people." (Luke 2:10)
So cool!
I'll bet you know why the angel said this (It is the reason for Christmas after all!)
But come back tomorrow for what I think is the next MOST wonderful verse in the entire Bible!
P.S. The painting of the angle above is by Edward Burn Jones (1878). Isn't it fabulous!?

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blank (Advent Verses)
This verse tells about the angel that came and talked to the shepherds while the glory of the Lord was brightly shining all around the hillside.
"And behold, an angel of the Lord __ before them, and the glory of the Lord __ around them, and they were greatly afraid." (Luke 2:9)
Do you think you'd be afraid if an angel came and talked to you?
(I think I would be terrified!)

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks! (Advent Verses)
It's Advent time of the year again!
The verses telling about the coming of Jesus - Christmas! - are my very favorite.
So, from now until Christmas these will be Pete and my Bible verses!
"And I will put enmity (strong feelings of dislike)between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your __, and you will strike his __."
Hint: Genesis 3:15
This is a really neat Bible verse. It's the very first one about Advent - the coming of Jesus as a human - in the Bible. It tells how the woman - Mary - will have a baby that will destroy the work of the evil one.
This is what Christmas is really all about - Jesus coming and destroying the work of the evil one!
Cool, Sis!
Note: All the verses come from Melanie Karis (Ann Nichols) book, The Faith of St. Nick: An Advent Devotional. Have a look! It's for the whole family to enjoy or just one person! It's on sale for US $3.59 - plus 30% off all Amazon books until Dec 1 (or $3.49 for a Kindle version)

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blanks (Hint: Zechariah 4:6)
Can you fill in the blanks?
This is another short verse.
And I tell you, it's a good one!
"Not by ___ nor by power, but by my ___."
Hint: Zechariah 4:6
(It's where our real strength to do anything comes from! Cool, Huh?)

My Bible Verse - Fill in the Blank! (About Faith)
This is one of my Grandpa's favorite Bible Verses. It's so short I even remember it (remembering Bible verses is something Lucy's good at - not me!). Do you know it?
We live by __, not by __.
Hint: 2 Corinthians 5:7
